The subject of the videos is one Robert Tilton, a televangelist who was somewhat popular in the 1980s and early 90s before succumbing (surprise!) to scandal. His mannerisms are so odd and pronounced that the task of splicing in the sound of flatulence seems almost easy. Don’t take my word for it: have a look.

In the grand tradition of the war profiteers of old, there are shysters peddling a commemorative coin that you need (possibly several of them), or else you’re going to forget all about September 11, and then the terrorists truly have won.

They have an animated image that has to be on of my favorite things of all time, perhaps the most poignant juxtaposition of jingoism and swine-like consumerism I’ve ever seen.

Never mind that the product itself is probably a cheap knock-off (“.999 pure silver recovered from Ground Zero”? Bullshit!); never mind the fact that it’s a goddamn popup coin; consider, for a second, how absurdly crass you would have to be to offer a product like this, in this fashion.

Fun Fact: Did you know that the National Collectors Mint, which makes this particular product, has as its Director one Barry Goldwater, Jr., the son of the late Republican senator and presidential candidate?

There was a man whose tears could cure cancer or any other disease, including the real cause of all diseases – sin. His blood did. His name was Jesus, not Chuck Norris.

The last time an image of mine was stolen, I was nice about it. Rusty wasn’t (if you’re reading this, Rusty, your screenshot is a 404 error).

Well, after the last time, I wrote an .htaccess file that stopped all hotlinking of images except for sites on this domain, as well as a few select others.

After looking through my logs recently, I found that most referrals from MySpace failed—most were still trying to hotlink HUH.gif. But there was one MySpace page that showed up under successful referrers. I visited the page, and sure enough, there was one of my images, unabashedly leeched.

So, Point 1 is: can anyone tell me why this particular MySpace page was able to leech the image (it was called via CSS, not by an <img> tag)?

Point 2 is: I was not feeling generous this time around, so I Tubgirled the idiot. He changed the background pretty quickly, but not before I snagged some screenshots.

One of the following images (“After”) contains a very graphic photograph that is Not Safe For Work, Not Suitable For Children, and as a matter of fact, not suitable for just about anyone. I’d advise any of you not already familiar with the internet phenomenon known as “Tubgirl” to simply take my word for it and not view the image. Viewing the image means that you forfeit the right to complain about it.
