"Loudon’s the father of Rufus, am I right?"
Yes, you’re right. And his soundtrack album for Knocked Up, the first of his I’ve ever owned, is pretty good. Like you, I heard of Rufus prior to hearing of his father, so when I listen to Loudon sometimes I realize how much his voice resembles his son’s.
I am so glad I am home, too!
I’m sour on the whole Wainwright family after being subjected to Rufus’s sister, Lucy. She opened for The Swell Season, and OH MY FUCKING GOD, was she ever annoying. Basically, she doesn’t know how to play or even tune a guitar. She’d start a song AND THEN STOP and giggle and say, "Oops!" and then start again AND THEN STOP AGAIN and giggle some more and say, "I really need a cigarette. Can I bum one off someone in the audience?", giggle giggle, and on and on. I wished I had a rifle.
Wrong sister. I meant Martha, not Lucy.
Oops, giggle giggle, maybe I need a cigarette too.
