According to Dougal, Wordpress 2.0 will be released on the 26th, in order to avoid issues with support over the Christmas weekend. I’ve been testing out the betas and RCs, and I must say that I am enthused. I don’t like the WYSIWYG editor, because it mangles my code pretty badly, but even the traditional interface has been revamped to look even purdier.
I’m also working on a new site design to roll out (hopefully) at the same time as the upgrade on Monday. It’s taking longer because I’m writing it completely from scratch instead of basing it on Kubrick or some other variant like I usually do. It would also go more quickly if I didn’t have to write for IE as well as Firefox. Certainly, it’ll have a lot of little effects (like :hover attached to elements besides anchors) that IE users will miss, but hey, screw ‘em. Get a better browser.
If all goes well with the 2.0 upgrade my blog, I’ll move the other blogs on my site over as well, perhaps on Tuesday.

I detest TinyMCE, it’s really really horrible.
Still, the other changes are nice.
Nobody wants to use TinyMCE, I guess.
