I picked up something by Michio Kaku quite a long while back, similarly covering the various possibilities open to science and technology that could be achieved within our lifetimes. Whilst I forget any of the particulars, I seem to remember realising that there was already quite a discrepancy between what he saw before us, as a scientist with the understanding and familiarity of all the technical problems to overcome, and what would be considered viable or even desirable by the rest of society. His predictions in that instance seemed feasible, but only if one added an extra decade or more onto any particular time-frame. Certainly an entertaining and optimistic read though!

Incidentally, it's been a while since my last visit, but I love the new theme!
