Some people might get a kick out of that. But those looking to the book in hopes of learning more about Feynman's work are sure to be disappointed. It depends on what expectations you bring to the book.

I think you've done the book quite a disservice. It was never intended to touch deeply on the technical. Feynmen published several books and papers on his math and science works.

<a href="http://amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/103-6787823-4097409?initialSearch=1&url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Richard+Feynman&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&Go=Go" rel="nofollow">Check out many of his published lectures and papers</a>.

Maybe you missed the point. Feynman was a man, and a scientist. He enjoyed science as an exploration of life, not life as the time in between experiments. They were inseperable, one and the same. It's been a while since I've read the book, but I don't remember being able to go more than a couple pages before seeing him take an every day occurance--say a trail of ants, or a party--and turn it into some sort of experiment.

It isn't written well, but I've never met an autobiography that was. I don't expect it. This one I felt was downright conversational. You touch on this, it's as if you're sitting at dinner and he's telling you the story. That's one of the things I liked about it. It breaks the drudgery that is all too common in biographies on or by scholars.
