The “Going to the Chicago Humanities Festival for the weekend” edition

- Jason Falkner • Great Big Yes
- A Northern Chorus • Costa del Sol
I’ll get by with a little help from my friends:
- The Sam and Beckyboo Show (I tend to like Vanessa Carlton, but there’s something about her voice that reminds me of Truman Capote: it’s weird to hear Truman Capote cover Mick Jagger)
- The Smedley Log (I’ve seen Coldplay live, and they played “Politik,” which was one of the highlights of the night)
- Faux Real, Tho (Nick Cave is a favorite of the FRTers)
- Rusty’s Kingdom (Morningrise: the best album I haven’t listened to in more than a year)
- Apartment 2024 (when I see “down by the river,” the only thing that comes to mind is Chris Farley, but that’s to be expected)
- SwedeHeart Stories (it’s not easy being green….)
