Don’t take my word for it. Read his asinine column in the WaPo, and then read Gary Stix’s (SciAm) and P.Z. Myer’s responses. I’m a bit too flabbergasted to write coherently about it, but P.Z. Myers does a pretty good job of rubbing his nose in it.

The largest flaw with the piece, imo, is that he’s romanticizing the whole thing: “Can’t do math? Just focus on becoming a successful writer!” Come on. If she failed algebra (ALGEBRA) six fucking times, she’s probably not a very good writer either. In fact, she’s probably mentally retarded.
