NetBeans is a nice enough IDE, but Java just sucks. Sucks bad. One day of trying to clean up (ie. separate content from style, get rid of tables, &c.) a small JSP auction site, and I want to tell Tomcat to go stick the war archive straight up its ass.

I absolutely totally and utterly hated and despised, and that’s putting it mildly, doing Java in uni. Absolutely hideous. I found NetBeans to be rubbish as well, but that might have been by association.
I don’t really like java either but I think I have to learn it soon because that is what is required at ISU (in the CS major).
