		<description>I started reading "Race Matters" a few months ago but got distracted and haven't finished it.  I was drawn to the book because, even though he often slips into characterizing all white people as being anti-black-interests, he also has a chapter dedicated to the lack of black leadership in which he blames no one but the black community itself.

"West is a true idealist, and offers pretty words and lots of hope for the problem at hand, but fails to really broach any constructive advice for fixing it." — Like a true professor. :tickled:  He also name drops and sounds a bit self-obsessed.</description>
